AMPAC USA has been making its mark in water purification industry by creating household reverse osmosis, commercial reverse osmosis, industrial reverse osmosis and seawater desalination systems for decades. Now we are with 100,000 GPD Capacity with PLC Controller.
Now, the US-based company has added another accolade to a growing list of achievements by creating Mobile Seawater Desalination Plant - SW100K-LX-C that has the capacity of producing 100,000 gallons per day of contamination-free water. This is a one of a kind equipment as no such water maker exists in the market yet.
The key features of Mobile Seawater Desalination Plant - SW100K-LX-C include:
A PLC Controller
A Programmable Siemens PLC controller that comes with a MODBUS communication and web server which makes both remote operations & monitoring easier. It also has MODBUS TCP point map and register table and multiple adjustable set-points that trigger warnings and ensure safety shutdowns. The PLC also has an impressive and integrated 10 inches full-color graphic touchscreen operator interface. All the process status details and operating conditions are concurrently displayed on a single process diagram visible on the display screen. The operator interface would be virtually without a menu which makes it easy to locate as well as adjust process set points and time delays.
To view control options or specific set points, a user simply needs to touch the corresponding image that’s appearing on the graphics screen, and it will make sure that all options appear instantly. To return to the main process display, touching the “Main” button is sufficient. The operator interface is located on the front of the main NEMA 4X rated control enclosure to make things convenient for a user.
- When the right control options are selected, the controller can display:
- Influent concentrate and permeate salinity (TDS/Conductivity)
- Influent, concentrate & permeate flows
- Percentage of water recovery
- Percentage of salt rejection
- Concentration factor
- Water temperature
- System operating hours
- Membrane flux and specific flux rates
- System flow
- Individual run times for each motor and valve
- User-defined flow
- Present day’s running flow totals for influent, concentrate and permeate lines
- Previous 24-hour flow
The PLC is vital because it allows a user to monitor low and high-pressure switches, pre-treatment equipment and tank levels. Data logging is available for all system variables such as flows, pressures, pH, temperature, TDS/Conductivity, etc. as they are consistently monitored.
Multi-Level Security Logs
This helps in ensuring that only qualified and the most trusted personnel get the power to change operating set points. This feature can also be used to remotely monitor and operate the equipment from anywhere on the planet as long as a user has a secure internet connection. All trend data can also be accessed from any part of the world remotely.
Multimedia Carbon Pre-Filter
This filter ensures that chlorine injected into water is eliminated, pH is adjusted, and excess bacteria is removed. As this filter has to backwash with raw water, a step of rinsing has been added in backwash sequence. Filters will backwash automatically thanks to timer control.
Spin Down Pre-Filter
This is a manual flush transparent seawater strainer that has a cleanable mesh screen filter which provides large particulate removal and ultimate corrosion resistance.
Sediment Pre-Filter
As the name suggests, this filter provides higher flow rates while ensuring that sand, dirt, and sediment are removed from the water at a rapid pace and enhanced capacity.
On-Demand Feed Supply Pumps
They are designed to supply the watermaker with seawater which is stored in settling tanks with the required pressure and flow. These are Multistage 316L Stainless Steel Jet High-Pressure Pumps with several safeguards. The first one is set on variable frequency drive, while the second is set on a pressure sensor. Known for durability and reliability, these are also equipped with a shaft seal and bearing system which can withstand extreme friction and heat for longer periods of time. This feature makes them more reliable in cases where they run dry.
Multi-Stage High-Pressure Centrifugal Pump
These pumps deliver increased reliability and enhanced pressure levels. With a capacity to boost seawater pressure levels up to 1200 PSI, it ensures the presence of the best desalination process.
A variable frequency drive is also a standard on all large watermakers that produce 40,000 GPD or more water in a day. It reduces start-up power by 60%.
Energy Recovery Hydraulic Pressure Booster
An energy recovery hydraulic pressure turbo charger is integrated into mobile seawater desalination plant - SW100K-LX-C to boost the liquid transfer efficiency up to 80 percent. It also brings down energy consumption by about 50 percent. All brine is allowed to pass through turbine volute, and impeller. No wasted energy double O-rings make sure reliable valve stem sealing. The addition of retaining plate ensures there is no accidental removal of valve stem from the unit.
Auto Fresh Water Flush
The product is flushed with fresh water from the inside in this process after every use to ensure there is no salt-water corrosion. This extends the service life and optimizes the performance of the unit. This internal flush also goes off when the unit has not been used once every 24 hours to ensure there is no bacterial growth in the unit.
Seawater Membrane Elements
Only top-quality membrane elements are integrated by AMPAC USA. They are designed to convert seawater to drinking water while ensuring a user gets the highest productivity offered by technology today. No other company in the water purification industry offers this level of productivity yet.
pH Neutralizer Alkaline Post-Filter
When the desalination process is over, the pH of the potable or permeate water is 5.0 which is quite acidic. So, this post filtration process ensures that pH level of water is adjusted to the neutral 7.0 by using the tried and tested method of re-mineralization.
Half Micron Ceramic Post Filter
In most nations, water is contaminated, and these contaminants might affect mobile seawater desalination plant - SW100K-LX-C. The presence of a ceramic post filter ensures that particles from the water are eliminated. It lets oxygen and mineral contents remain unchanged, which allows water to have a spring-like freshness and taste.
Some of the pathogens removed at this stage are E. coli, cholera, dysentery, cryptosporidium, anthrax spores, typhus and amoebic collocabilities or bilharzia among others. This technology is also known as depth filtration or dead-end filtration.
Ultraviolet Sterilization Light
In the final stage, ultraviolet disinfection is present which removes disease-causing microorganisms by disinfect watering. UV light easily penetrates and ensures destruction of harmful organisms.
Noise Reduction
The mobile seawater desalination plant - SW100K-LX-C comes with an accumulator pulsation noise dampener that reduces noise and vibration to ensure that they fall below acceptable decibel noise levels.
Varied Monitors
It also comes with varied instrumentation monitors: stainless steel glycerin filled pressure gauges. These are installed post each stage in order to monitor pressure at every step of the desalination process.
Visual Flowmeters: These are installed to monitor productivity permeate and concentrate.
Salinity Monitor: This one shows actual product water quality which is a crucial tool for product water monitoring.
Hour Meter: It lets a user maintain precise logs of operation hours and schedule preventative maintenance.
Temperature Monitor: It keeps exact logs of production capacity versus temperature of feed water supply.
Safety Features
The safety features of the mobile seawater desalination plant - SW100K-LX-C include:
- Low-pressure sensors for failsafe operation and high-pressure diverter valves for operator safety
- Terminals are shielded while all the high voltage components covered for safety of the end user
- All electrical components are UL / CE Certified, and they are enclosed in NEMA4X rated enclosures while all water quality components are approved by NSF for drinking water applications.
Service & Maintenance
The mobile seawater desalination plant - SW100K-LX-C is QA Certified by the factory and tested for tougher conditions. They are ready to install and come with a detailed & comprehensive owner's operation & maintenance manual.
